Caterina’s is more than a restaurant, it is a Milwaukee legacy built on three generations of family, food, and genuine hospitality. From a young age, Tony Ingrilli Jr. grew up in the family restaurant world, shaped by his father Tony Sr., whose deep Sicilian roots and dream of sharing authentic Italian flavors brought him from Capo d’Orlando, Sicily to Milwaukee in 1964. That dream began with Ingrilli’s Villa, where nine year old Tony Jr. washed dishes and learned the values of hard work, warmth, and pride in every plate. Over the years, the Ingrilli family helped shape the Milwaukee food scene by opening one of the area’s first Italian delicatessens and liquor stores, and by creating homemade frozen pizzas that became beloved staples across Southeastern Wisconsin.
In 1982, Tony Sr. opened Caterina’s Ristorante, a fine dining Italian restaurant named after his wife, Kathy, featuring a menu that celebrated both Northern and Southern Italian traditions. Tony Jr. grew through every role, from bussing tables to mastering the kitchen, guided by his father’s mentorship.
In 2005, Tony Jr. and his wife, Monique, took the helm, continuing the family tradition while bringing their own passion to the experience. Today, their children Isabella, Gabriella, and Antonio proudly carry on the third generation of this family owned Milwaukee restaurant. With every dish served, Caterina’s honors the memory of Tony Sr. and Kathy, and welcomes each guest as part of the family. This is more than our restaurant. It’s our home, and we are honored to share it with you.
